Metalasia muricata

Scientific name

A grey, rounded, twiggy honey-scented shrub of 2-4m height that is very useful as a pioneer and soil stabiliser. It comes up very fast after a fire creating a nursery environment for other plants. Along with other asteraceae it adds mycorrhizae to the soil.
