Popular education is a theory and practice of education directed towards promoting social change rather than social stability. It is rooted in the real interests of people committed to learning and acting together towards a fairer and more egalitarian society.
Communitree was a participatory member at this conference whereby we had a stand amongst others with information on invasive species, birding, how to make your own terrarium, how our home nurseries work and mapping information of our sites.
The conference also held smaller group rotation meetings whereby Communitree was able to engage with other members of participating organisations like 'Right2Know', the Women's Circle and Equal Education. These gatherings allowed Communitree to spread their goals and values to like minded people, campaign for their involvement in our projects as well as gain their valuable ideas and opinions.
Communitree was also able to learn a lot from what other organisations had to say and in turn developled upon building solidarity amongst individuals and their actions in society.
We are very grateful to the Conference for giving us this opportunity.
