Planting day at Huis Luckhoff

Communitree with help from Friends of The Liesbeek, volunteers and the Rosebank community has been working towards transforming this patch into a publicly accessible and beautiful fynbos garden. In the previous weeks we were able to discuss the garden design, clean and remove the first segment of invasive grass on the patch.

The volunteers from Huis Luckhoff have done a magnificent job growing some plants. We finally get the chance to transfer these species to the new garden.

We need YOUR help. How to help?

- Join us to pull out the last bits of the grass-roots, prepare the soil and finally transplant the plants grown by the volunteers.
- If possible, feel free to bring your own gloves and digging fork. The more tools-the easier the work!

Getting there

Walk, cycle or drive along Liesbeek Parkway until you get to Alma Road in Rosebank. At this intersection turn away from Table Mountain up Alma Road. Park cars or bicycles outside Huis Luckoff. The garden is just outside Huis Luckoff looking on to the Liesbeek River.
Coming by train you will get out at Rosebank Station and walk along Alma Road away from Table Mountain until to get to the robots at Liesbeek Parkway. Cross of the robots and you will see the garden in front of you on the other side of the river.
