During the month of November we will be working twice a week at this patch. This is a bit of an abandoned area just off the Sans Souci Bridge, along the Liesbeek Trail.
We will be removing litter and mostly glass, which unfortunately abounds. We furthermore tidy up the existing plants, clear new areas, and plant new garden beds where we can. We also water the new beds with water from the river every now and then.
Come join us! The sessions are short but great for a break during the day for some hands-on gardening fun. If you have them, please bring:
- Gloves
- Spade and/or fork
- Bucket
Furthermore, if you have any of the following plant species please feel free to bring them along to add to the new beds:
- White arum lily (Zantedeschia aethiopica)
- Cape agapanthus (Agapanthus africanus)
- Red Hot Poker (Kniphofia uvaria)
- Camphor-scented pelargonium (Pelargonium betulinum)
But all we really need is your enthusiasm, so please by all means come along, with our without equipment or plants!
