Scientific name

Aristea is a genus of evergreen, perennial and rhizomatous species of flowering plants in the iris family (Wikipedia).

Leaves and stems used to treat diabetes, chest ailments and nervous problems, to boost fertility in men and women, and for cleaning out the womb (Sustainable Livelihoods Foundation. 2015. The wild harvesting of plant medicines in Cape Town.)

Also known as Maagbos, Blousuurkanol, Maagbossie.
