Scientific name

A bulbous perennial to 45cm with leaves usually green at flowers. It bears 4-10 nodding, narrowly tubular scarlet flowers.

It occurs on mountain slopes and flats in seasonal streams and vleis in the Western and Eastern Cape, flowering after fire.

Belongs to the Amaryllis Family.
